Alex Firestine
Alex Firestine is a passionate researcher dedicated to catalyzing sustainable social change through business innovation and regenerative practices across sectors.
For the past four years, Alex has worked with NGOs to address regional food insecurity by incorporating dry-hydroponic agriculture technology into grocery stores, developing accessible virtual food outlets, and publishing peer-reviewed research on standardized methods to measure regional food insecurity. Alex is one of 12 awarded the prestigious Senator George J. Mitchell Scholarship, which currently supports his MSc in Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security at the University of Galway in Ireland. In Galway, Alex is involved in a variety of international development projects, SFI grants in innovation, and climate & human health focused venture capital.
Before Blu Skye, Alex worked in Advisory and Consulting at KPMG and Deloitte, where most of his clients were federal government entities and large telecommunications companies, respectively. Alex holds Ph.Bs in Finance, Accounting, and Business Information Systems from the University of Pittsburgh, where he recently graduated summa cum laude.
Outside the office – Alex enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and weight training with his four brothers.
